As of now I am still working this week Thursday and Friday. I was also informed that no matter if there is work to be done or not, I will be getting paid for 19.5 hours of work weekly.
Next week I believe the Kearney Area Community Foundation, where I work, will transition to work from home.
I just spent the last weekend moving into a larger apartment which allowed me to acquire a nice office setting. This will come in very handy as I transition to working from home.
I cannot complain. I am lucky enough to be an 23 year-old adult, who is capable of taking care of herself. Not saying others aren’t, but I do feel for those freshman who have been ripped from their college dorms and taken back home.
Unlike them, I am able to maintain my college education as we transition online as well as receive a paycheck. This relieves much added stress that others are facing right now.
I know too many friends who are in college, having to move back home, find other work or have been completely laid off due to this pandemic.
I am fine as this pandemic continues to unfold. We have food, clean water and just enough toilet paper. Hopefully toilet paper is restocked soon, because those of us who didn’t stock up really just need to buy it ordinarily.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of the month unfolds as we continue to develop more information on COVID-19.
The dorms are closed??? When did they announce this?

So glad that the university is continuing to pay student workers through this mess.
